by Traditional (arr. Kevin Love of Music4ClassicalGuitar)
Most of us know this song by way of Ritchie Valens version 'La Bamba' from the '50's. In fact it is a traditional song from the Veracruz region of Mexico dating from the early 1800's. "To dance La Bomba you need to be a little bit silly." is a rough translation on the first line. Percussion would make a welcome addition to this arrangement. Arriba!

by F. Tarrega (arr. Kevin Love of Music4ClassicalGuitar)
Francisco Tarrega, considered by some to be the Chopin of the guitar, excelled at writing 'salon music', charming minatures to be played in private homes. Here are three such pieces arranged for oboe and guitar. (The D. C. al Fine markings have been disabled in the playback of this score but should be observed in performance.)

“Songs of Childhood” |
 |
|
“Songs of Childhood” was born from a desire to use familiar music to introduce basic classical guitar technique to students and comes from many years of teaching and developing material for students. Five tunes (Frère Jacques, Ode to Joy, Old MacDonald, This Old Man and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star) are presented in a variation form using typical guitar textures and figurations to progress from very basic to intermediate levels and beyond. The variations are presented individually and collected together in “Songs of Childhood" (in two volumes). |
